The Mob kept law and order there as the entire Bronx descended into anarchy in the 70's and 80's. Scott Tower was the literal "white hat" versus the grime-y black hat / blackhole otherwise known as Tracey Towers. The juxtaposition of that SIHITHOLE, Tracey Tower, made Scott Tower seem even more like Nirvana. Scott Towers was like an Oasis in the desert in the 1980's. My entire route was Scott Towers and another building on Villa Avenue.
